To implement the requirements of the national Work Safety Month campaign and further consolidate the company’s work safety defense line, Jiuding New Materials successfully held its 4th Firefighting Skills Competition on the afternoon of July 1. A total of 36 volunteer firefighters from nine responsible departments and branches of the company participated in the event, showcasing their professional safety literacy and emergency response capabilities.
Centering on the core principle of “promoting learning through competitions and facilitating practical application through learning”, the competition was designed to strengthen firefighters’ theoretical foundation and improve their on-site emergency rescue skills. Compared with previous sessions, this year’s competition made a notable upgrade by adding a firefighting theoretical knowledge contest for the first time. Meanwhile, the practical operation competition included two core events: fire hydrant water outlet operation and comprehensive rescue and fire-extinguishing operation, building a comprehensive training and assessment system that combines theoretical mastery and practical proficiency.
The official competition kicked off at 2 p.m. with all participants and referees gathering in front of the comprehensive building. Ding Qinbing from the Safety and Environmental Protection Department delivered a pre-competition mobilization speech and elaborated on the competition rules and assessment standards, emphasizing the importance of standardized operation and safe competition. At 2:15 p.m., the two practical competition items were launched simultaneously. The entire venue maintained orderly operation with a passionate and rigorous atmosphere. All participants responded swiftly, raced against time to complete standardized operations, and demonstrated excellent professional quality and rapid emergency response capabilities. The referee team strictly abided by fair and impartial principles to record scores and assess each participant’s performance in detail.
Upon the completion of the practical tests, all contestants moved to the company’s large conference room for the theoretical knowledge competition. The test questions closely focused on daily fire safety management key points, emergency disposal procedures and standard operation specifications, comprehensively examining the contestants’ mastery of basic firefighting knowledge, safety regulations and on-site emergency response processes.
At the closing ceremony, Ding Yu from the Safety and Environmental Protection Department delivered a comprehensive summary and review of the competition. She fully affirmed the positive participation attitude and solid professional firefighting skills of all contestants. She stressed that all staff should take this competition as an opportunity to adhere to regular firefighting skill training, continuously polish emergency disposal capabilities, and jointly build a solid safety “firewall” for the enterprise’s stable operation. Finally, the company awarded honorary certificates to the winner of the theoretical knowledge competition and the top three contestants in practical operation, and organized group photos of the award-winning staff.
This firefighting competition effectively realized the integration of learning and competition, successfully tested the construction effectiveness of the company’s volunteer firefighter team, and further improved the overall emergency response level of the enterprise’s fire safety work, laying a solid foundation for sustained and stable work safety production.
