Versatile Fiberglass Chopped Strand Mat for Composite Manufacturing
Product Description
E-CR Glass Fiber Chopped Strand Mat is a non-woven material crafted from E-CR glass filaments, featuring randomly and uniformly distributed chopped fibers. These 50mm-long fibers are treated with a silane coupling agent and bonded together via an emulsion or powder binder, boasting excellent compatibility with unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester, epoxy, and phenolic resins.
This versatile mat finds wide application in processes like hand lay-up, filament winding, compression molding, and continuous laminating. Its end-use markets span infrastructure & construction, automotive, chemical, and marine industries, with typical products including boats, bathroom fixtures, auto parts, chemical-resistant pipes, storage tanks, cooling towers, various panels, and building components.
Product Features
Chopped Strand Mat offers outstanding performance characteristics, including consistent thickness, minimal fuzz generation during processing, and impurity-free composition. It features a soft texture that allows for easy manual tearing, along with excellent application feasibility and defoaming performance. The mat enables low resin consumption, rapid wet-out, and thorough resin impregnation, while parts manufactured with it exhibit high tensile strength—making it ideal for large-area components—and superior overall mechanical properties.

Packaging
● The diameter of chopped strand mat rolls is typically supplied in the range of 28 cm to 60 cm.
● The roll features a paper core, available in two standard sizes: 76.2 mm (3 inches) or 101.6 mm (4 inches) in inner diameter.
● Each roll is protected with a plastic bag or film wrap and housed in a cardboard box.
● For storage and shipping, the rolls can be palletized either vertically (on-end) or horizontally (on their sides).
Storage
● For proper storage, chopped strand mats should be kept in a cool, dry, and waterproof area. The recommended storage conditions are a temperature range of 5°C to 35°C and a relative humidity between 35% and 80%.
● Chopped Strand Mat is available in unit weights of 70-1000 g/m² and roll widths of 100-3200 mm.
