Seminar on Hazardous Chemical Usage Held at Jiuding New Material

On the afternoon of December 26, a specialized seminar on the usage of hazardous chemicals was held at Jiangsu Jiuding New Material Co., Ltd. The event, organized by the industrial and trade professional group of the city’s work safety and emergency management department, was part of a “learning skills, enhancing capabilities” series. A total of 54 participants attended, including Chen Haifeng, Deputy Director of the Municipal Emergency Management Bureau; Mao Hongjun, Head of the Basic Department and all its members; Yang Zhifeng, Director of the High-Tech Zone Work Safety Supervision Bureau; experts in the field of hazardous chemical usage; and safety supervision personnel from various towns and districts. The seminar was chaired by Zong Lei, head of the organizing group.

The event began with an entry safety training session conducted by Ding Yu, Deputy Director of the Safety and Environmental Protection Department at Jiuding New Material. She provided a brief introduction to the company, outlined its application of manualized and digitalized management systems, and shared key experiences in the safety management of hazardous chemical storage facilities.

Following the presentation, participants visited the company’s hazardous chemical warehouse for an on-site observation. The warehouse management practices received widespread recognition and positive feedback from attendees.

During the seminar, experts engaged in lively discussions on several critical topics, including how to determine hazardous chemicals, and how to properly establish dedicated hazardous chemical warehouses, intermediate storage facilities, and indoor storage cabinets. Representatives from various units actively participated, contributing diverse perspectives and insights.

In his concluding remarks, Yang Zhifeng expressed his appreciation through three key words: “welcome, expectation, and best wishes.” He extended his sincere hope that all enterprises would continue to grow, strengthen, and build their own distinctive brands.

Chen Haifeng offered three suggestions for future improvements:
1. Relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines should be compiled into handbooks and distributed in advance for participants to study before such seminars.
2. All experts should commit to continuous learning to rapidly enhance the overall competency of the professional group, emphasizing both professional expertise and political awareness.
3. Experts should not only identify problems but also assist enterprises in solving them; otherwise, they cannot be regarded as true experts.

The seminar served as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and professional development, reinforcing the importance of standardized and collaborative approaches to hazardous chemical safety management.
