In a proactive move to strengthen corporate fire safety management and enhance employees' capabilities in emergency evacuation, initial fire suppression, and first aid, Gansu Jiuding organized a specialized fire emergency drill for the second half of 2025 on the afternoon of December 27. Personnel from various functional departments and production projects participated in the exercise.
The drill simulated emergency response procedures following a fire caused by an electrical short circuit in a new workshop. At 14:38 hours sharp, the fire alarm sounded, triggering an immediate response from all staff. Employees promptly covered their mouths and noses, assumed a low crouching posture, and evacuated swiftly along designated safe routes to the designated assembly point at the factory gate. The entire evacuation process was completed in under three minutes, demonstrating highly efficient emergency response capabilities. Upon assembly, each department quickly conducted a headcount and reported to the commander-in-chief, ensuring no one was left behind.
Various emergency teams then sprang into action according to pre-established scripts for initial firefighting and rescue operations. The volunteer fire brigade rushed to the simulated scene to cut off power and control the "blaze" using fire extinguishers and hydrants. The communications team promptly alerted emergency services and guided rescue forces. The evacuation and rescue team facilitated personnel withdrawal and attended to a "worker overcome by smoke," simulating a rescue. The medical team performed on-site CPR and AED usage, mimicking coordination with 120 emergency services for hospital transfer. Meanwhile, the security cordon team maintained order, and logistics and equipment support groups provided necessary materials and technical assistance. Through efficient collaboration and seamless coordination between all teams, key tasks including fire suppression, personnel evacuation, and casualty care were successfully accomplished.
The commander-in-chief affirmed the drill's overall effectiveness, emphasizing the paramount importance of the principle "prevention first, integration of prevention and firefighting." He urged all employees to use this exercise as an opportunity to continuously elevate their safety awareness. The deputy commander provided feedback on aspects such as coordination efficiency and equipment usage during the drill, offering constructive suggestions for improvement.
Following the practical drill, the Safety and Environmental Protection Department organized hands-on training for all participants. Detailed instructions were provided on the correct operation of fire extinguishers and hydrants, along with demonstrations of lifesaving skills like cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of positive pressure breathing apparatus. Employees then practiced fire extinguishing in batches, solidifying their emergency response capabilities through this "theory plus practice" approach.
This drill successfully tested the feasibility of Gansu Jiuding's fire emergency plan and the coordinated response capacity of its departments. The immersive experience significantly boosted employees' skills in self-rescue and mutual aid. Gansu Jiuding remains committed to continually refining its safety management system and conducting regular emergency drills, thereby fortifying a robust defense line to safeguard employee well-being and corporate property.
