Typical end products manufactured with this mat include boats, bathroom fixtures, automotive components, chemical-resistant pipes and tanks, cooling towers, various panels, and building elements.

Product Features

Chopped Strand Mat demonstrates a comprehensive set of superior performance characteristics. It features a uniform thickness and is notably soft, allowing for easy manual tearing. During processing, it generates minimal fuzz and is free from impurities.

The mat exhibits excellent resin compatibility, characterized by rapid wet-out and effective wet-through, which facilitates efficient air release (defoaming) and reduces overall resin consumption. These processing advantages contribute to the production of large-area parts with high tensile strength and robust mechanical properties.

Packaging

● Chopped strand mat rolls are available in diameters ranging from 28 cm to 60 cm.

● The mat is supplied on a paper core with an inside diameter of either 76.2 mm (3 inches) or 101.6 mm (4 inches).

● Each roll is first wrapped in a plastic bag or film and then packaged in a cardboard box.

● The rolls may be arranged on the pallets in either a vertical or horizontal orientation.

Storage

● Unless otherwise specified, chopped strand mats shall be stored in a cool, dry, and waterproof environment. The ambient temperature must be maintained between 5°C and 35°C, with a relative humidity of 35% to 80%.

● The unit weight of Chopped Strand Mat is specified between 70 g/m² and 1000 g/m², with standard roll widths ranging from 100 mm to 3200 mm.
