Product Description
Chopped Strand Mat is a non-woven material crafted from E-CR glass filaments. It comprises chopped fibers that are randomly but evenly arranged. These 50-millimeter-long fibers are coated with a silane coupling agent and held in place by either an emulsion or powder binder. It is compatible with various resins, including unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester, epoxy, and phenolic resins.
Chopped Strand Mat finds extensive application in processes like hand lay-up, filament winding, compression molding, and continuous laminating. Its end-use markets cover infrastructure and construction, automotive and building, chemical industries, and marine sectors. Examples of its applications include the production of boats, bathing equipment, auto parts, chemical-resistant pipes, tanks, cooling towers, various panels, and building components, among others.
Product Features
Chopped Strand Mat offers excellent performance characteristics. It has a uniform thickness and produces little fuzz during operation, with no impurities present. The mat is soft and easy to tear by hand, and it performs well in application with good defoaming properties. It requires low resin consumption, wets out quickly, and penetrates resins thoroughly. When used in manufacturing large-area parts, it provides high tensile strength, and the resulting components boast good mechanical properties.

Packaging
● The diameter of Chopped strand mat roll could be from 28cm to 60cm.
● The roll is rolled with a paper core which has an inside diameter of 76.2mm (3 inch) or 101.6mm (4 inch ).
● Each roll is first wrapped in a plastic bag or film, after which it is packed into a cardboard box.
● The rolls can be stacked either vertically or horizontally on the pallets.
Storage
● Unless otherwise specified, the chopped strand mats should be stored in a cool, dry, water-proof area. It is recommended that the room temperature and humidity be always at 5℃-35℃ and 35%-80% respectively.
● The unit weight of Chopped Strand Mat ranges from 70g-1000g/m2. The roll width ranges from 100mm-3200mm .
