Product Description
Chopped Strand Mat is a non-woven reinforcement material composed of randomly oriented, 50 mm E-CR glass filaments. The fibers are coated with a silane coupling agent to enhance bonding and are bonded together with an emulsion or powder binder. It exhibits excellent compatibility with various resin systems, including unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester, epoxy, and phenolic resins.
This mat is suitable for multiple fabrication processes such as hand lay-up, filament winding, compression molding, and continuous laminating. Its applications span a wide range of industries including infrastructure and construction, automotive, chemical processing, and marine. Typical end-use products include boats, bathroom fixtures, automotive parts, chemical-resistant pipes and tanks, cooling towers, as well as various panels and building components.
Product Features
Chopped Strand Mat delivers excellent overall performance, characterized by its uniform thickness and soft texture, which allows for easy manual handling and tearing. It generates minimal fuzz during processing and is free from impurities. The mat exhibits rapid and thorough resin wet-out and wet-through, contributing to low resin consumption and effective air release. These properties, combined with its high tensile strength, make it particularly suitable for producing large-area parts with robust mechanical properties.

Packaging
● The diameter of a chopped strand mat roll typically ranges from 28 cm to 60 cm.
● The mat roll is fitted with a paper core, available in two inner diameter sizes: 76.2 mm (3 inches) or 101.6 mm (4 inches).
● Each roll is first sealed in a protective plastic film or bag, followed by secure packaging in a corrugated cardboard box.
● The rolls are stacked either vertically or horizontally on pallets.
Storage
● Unless otherwise specified, the chopped strand mats should be stored in a cool, dry, water-proof area. It is recommended that the room temperature and humidity be always at 5℃-35℃ and 35%-80% respectively.
● The unit weight of Chopped Strand Mat ranges from 70g-1000g/m2. The roll width ranges from 100mm-3200mm .
